Detailed Itinerary of Uganda safari tour

Day 1: Arrive at Entebbe Airport, transfer to a hotel for overnight stay

Meet your driver guide as stated in your travel plan, get a warm welcome into Uganda – The Pearl of Africa and later, briefing about what your long luxury 14 days Uganda safari tour is all about. After, you will be transferred to a comfortable hotel to retire for the night.

Day 2: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park Vacation.

A delicious breakfast early, then meet your Uganda safari tour guide for morning greeting and briefing before you set off to your first destination. Leave Entebbe city connecting via Kampala then through Luweero – Gulu route to Murchison Falls National Park, the largest park in Uganda and also a home to the world’s powerful falls – the Murchison Falls.

Murchison Falls National Park is found in the north-western side of Uganda and hosts a range of wildlife from the big game to small mammals, birds. Driving to Murchison Falls is amazing as you enjoy the scenic beauty of the countryside, with stopover visit at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for rhino tracking – the only opportunity to see rhinos in the wild on Uganda safari.

Continue to Masindi for lunch after 2 hours rhino trekking experience, then later access Murchison via Kichubanyombo gate. Drive while enjoying view of playful baboons at Budongo Forest before crossing to the northern section of the park via the newly built bridge, as you enjoy view of Murchison Falls and Victoria Nile.

Day 3: Go game drive, launch trip – part of Uganda safari tour

Hefty breakfast, then you will meet your driver ready for your early morning game drive starting at 6:30am through the northern game tracks in Murchison Falls National Park. For 2-3 hours of eye-catching wildlife drive, a range of wildlife will be spotted, that is from giraffes, warthogs, large herds of buffaloes, African bush elephants, lions, leopards, antelopes to diversity of birds.

After exploring the distinct ecosystems and sceneries characterized by dense woodland, savanna plains and vast grassland dotted with palm trees, return to have lunch and relaxation. In the afternoon, embark on 2-3 hours boat excursion on Victoria Nile in Murchison Falls taking you to the base of the falls while spotting a range of aquatic at display along the banks including basking crocodiles, hippos, plus birds. Enjoy the breathtaking view of the falls, then begin your 45 minutes trek to the top.

Day 4: Journey to Kibale – part of Uganda safari tour

Start your morning with an early breakfast, after drive to Kibale National Park located in Kabarole district, Western Uganda. Your journey to Kibale takes you via Hoima city to Fort Portal for lunch break, but en-route the rift valley escarpment will treat you with breathtaking view. Drive to your lodge to settle for a relaxed dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Chimp trek Kibale & Bigodi swamp walk

A special day in Kibale starts with briefing about chimpanzee tracking rules after you have enjoyed breakfast. Tracking chimpanzees in Kibale begins at 8:00am with guide on lead taking you in a group of 6pax to see chimp community in the wild.

This will take 2-4 hours and includes one hour with chimpanzees in Kibale forest- take as many pictures as you can and return with a deep understanding on behaviors of these massive apes. In addition, lots of other primates will be sighted including colobus monkeys, l’hoest monkeys, vervet monkeys, etc plus birds.

Lunch in your respective lodges and after, you will transfer to Bigodi Wetland for a guided nature walk. Bigodi swamp is endowed with 8 primate species, about 138 bird species and other mammals, majority of which will be sighted on a nature walk here.

Day 6: To Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda

Travel to Queen Elizabeth National Park Western Uganda via Fort Portal, 3 hours’ drive. You will have lunch on arrival at a lodge and have ample time to chill, then set off for an evening game drive to see diversity of wildlife.

Day 7: Go guided game drive, launch trip excursion.

Early rise to enjoy a hot cup of tea/coffee, after, meet your driver set off for 6:30am game drive via Kasenyi Plains. Explore the savanna plains for 2-3 hours with expected wildlife to see include elephants, buffaloes, antelopes, birds, lions, leopards, etc. Return and lunch will be had at the lodge, then at 2:00pm, have a remarkable treat from Kazinga channel on a boat cruise 2 hours with a chance to sight lots of hippos, crocodiles, aquatic birds, etc.

Day 8: To Bwindi National Park

Wake early, have breakfast and leave for Ishasha to see the tree climbing lions and also enjoy a bush lunch. After, transfer to Bwindi in Southwestern Uganda to check in at the lodge.

Day 9: Trek gorillas in Bwindi & Batwa cultural tour

Today is a special day to see the massive mountain gorillas in the wild and you will have briefing first at the park offices and also allocation of gorilla families. The park guide with the best experience about these apes will be allocated to you and at 8:00am, you will set off for actual search in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Trekking with gorillas in Bwindi can take 2-6 hours which covers one hour of close interaction and photography.

Return after an encounter with a family of gorillas, refresh and in the evening, a special moment with the Batwa the original occupants of Bwindi Forest will be had. Have a great time with the Batwa, learn about their lifestyles, traditions, cultures and other practices.

Day 10: To Lake Bunyonyi – part of Uganda safari tour
