 Day 1: Arrival Entebbe Airport – Transfer to Lodge.

Day 2:  Drive to Kibale Forest National Park & evening visit Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary/ Community visit.

Journey to Kibale National Park & Explore the Wonders of Bigodi:

Embark on a scenic drive to Kibale National Park, renowned for its lush tropical rainforests & diverse primate population. As the day unwinds, visit the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, a haven for nature lovers and bird enthusiasts. Explore the sanctuary’s boardwalks and trails, spotting an array of:

  • Vibrant bird species, including the majestic great blue turaco
  • Rare and exotic plants, such as the giant fig tree
  • Fascinating insects and butterflies

Alternatively, immerse yourself in local culture with a community visit:

Engage with the warm and welcoming residents of Bigodi village

Day 3: Moring Chimpanzee Trekking in Kibale Forest & Afternoon relaxation / visit spa.

Day 4: Drive to – Bwindi National Park.

Scenic Drive to Bwindi:

Embark on a picturesque drive from Kibale Forest National Park to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Journey through the rolling hills, scenic valleys, and traditional villages of western Uganda, taking in the breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape.

As you drive, spot local wildlife, including monkeys, birds, and butterflies, and enjoy the opportunity to interact with the friendly locals. The drive typically takes around 6-7 hours, depending on road conditions and the number of stops along the way.

Arrive at your lodge in the afternoon, with time to relax and prepare for the next day’s gorilla trekking adventure in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Day 5: Bwindi Gorilla Tracking & Visit charming Batwa Community Village.

Gorilla Trekking Adventure:

Rise early for a nourishing breakfast, preparing you for an unforgettable gorilla trekking experience.  By 8:00 am, report to the ranger station for registration and a comprehensive briefing by experienced park rangers. Embark on a guided journey through the lush undergrowth, navigating the dense rainforest in pursuit of the majestic mountain gorillas. Trekking time can vary from 30 minutes to 5-6 hours, requiring a moderate level of physical fitness and sturdy hiking shoes.

As you sit among these incredible creatures, listen to their enchanting vocalizations and marvel at the imposing presence of the dominant silverback. This intimate encounter is a rare privilege, with only approximately 650 mountain gorillas remaining in the wild. Savor this extraordinary moment, surrounded by the sights, sounds, and majesty of these incredible animals in their natural habitat.

The Batwa Experience was created by the displaced Batwa pygmies to educate their children and to share their amazing heritage and traditions with the world. Since 1992, the Batwa have been unable to live in the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, their ancestors’ home. Yet they have not forgotten the old ways.

Step back in time to see how the Batwa lived for millenia in the Bwindi, one of the most beautiful jungles on earth and home of the famous mountain gorillas. Enjoy an incredible day hike in the rain forest with Batwa guides, see how the Batwa lived and hunted, learn about medicinal plants, and watch for animals and birds.

Day 6: Fly to Entebbe airport for the departure flight.

Departure Day:

Bid farewell to the majestic mountains and lush forests of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Take a scenic flight from Kihihi or Kisoro airstrip near Bwindi to Entebbe International Airport. Enjoy the bird’s-eye view of Uganda’s stunning landscapes, including Lake Victoria, the Rwenzori Mountains, and the rolling hills of western Uganda.

Upon arrival at Entebbe Airport, proceed to the departure lounge for your international flight, marking the end of an unforgettable Ugandan adventure.
