The story of this facility stems from the passion of following a dream and never losing sight of what truly matters. It is owned by a committed individual who spent his childhood in the Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo fringed by sweeping farmland, with lots of cattle and horses. It is from these cherished memories that he decided to embark on the journey of establishing this one-of-a-kind Farmhouse in Northern Rwanda.
Having pursued his passion for medicine and dedicated several years to serving in the United Nations missions in various countries, he decided to establish a place where he could retire, reconnect with his farming tools, and live in harmony with Mother Nature.
Accommodation options at Farmhouse Rwanda
Farmhouse Rwanda provides accommodation in two forms- the main farmhouse (private home with 4 Suites) and the Private cottage (with two bedrooms).
The main farmhouse is about 570 square meters and sits on a 15-hectare farm and can be exclusively booked for guests looking for privacy, for instance, a family or group. It has a private balcony that overlooks the breathtaking views of the lush garden and lively farm while catching glimpses of the cattle and horses grazing nearby. Featuring four spacious bedrooms, each equipped with a King-size bed and en-suite bathroom, it is perfect for family or group visitors (up to 8 guests in the 4 Suites).
Featuring a private chef and private butler/host to personalize Guests’ stay, there is an option of enjoying a “farm-to-plate” experience with the day’s menu based on the harvest of fresh organic ingredients from the on-site farm.
The Private Cottage is about 145 square meters and provides the best opportunity to experience typical countryside living. It is also located right on the Farm and rewards guests with jaw-dropping views of the Twin Lakes of Bulera and Ruhondo, Musanze City, the stunning Virunga Volcanoes, and the sprawling farm. The cottage has two en-suite bathrooms, a spacious living room, a freestanding bathtub, patios, a kitchen, and outdoor lounges. There is nothing more refreshing than relaxing on the private patio while interacting with the majestic horses and friendly cows while taking in stunning views.

Along with undertaking Volcanoes Park activities like gorilla trekking, golden monkey tracking, Dian Fossey Gravesite Hikes, Volcano climbing, bird watching, and guided forest walks, guests can undertake Musanze Town tours, tours of the Twin Lakes of Bulera and Ruhondo, and visit the Gorilla Guardian Village.
