Amakoro Songa Lodge has a total of 8 cottages which can accommodate a maximum of 16 guests per night. The main cottage features two King-size beds and can accommodate up to 4 visitors while the 6 individual cottages can accommodate 12 guests. Of these, 4 are double/King-size rooms while 2 are twin.

There is also an option of Exclusive use of the main cottage hence making it perfect for family or Group vacations.

Each of the Amakoro Songa cottages is purposely furnished with classic elegance while fusing local and contemporary pieces that create a special touch of warmth and delight. The rooms are airy and feature a cozy indoor and outdoor fireplace. The outdoor option makes it possible for guests to unwind with an evening drink while being entertained by the traditional Intore Dance Troupe.

The main activity enjoyed by Amakoro Songa Lodge guests is, without a doubt, gorilla trekking. Interestingly, the Lodge is one of the closest facilities to Kinigi Park Headquarters, the point where all guests converge for registration and briefing before starting gorilla treks. Thanks to the Lodge location, visitors can also take part in Volcano climbing (Karisimbi and Bisoke), golden monkey tracking, birding in Volcanoes National Park, and hikes to the Dian Fossey Gravesite.

Tours to Musanze Caves, the Gorilla Guardian Village (formerly Iby’ Iwacu Cultural Village), the Twin Lakes of Bulera and Ruhondo, as well as guided community/village walks and cycling tours, can be arranged while staying at Amakoro Songa Lodge.
